Breakfast at Castleton House

Breakfast they say is the most important meal of the day and we do all we can to make it so during a stay here.

The ground floor dining room has a traditional feel, yet is comfortable and spacious enough for you to be happy to spend time browsing over the daily paper. Fresh bread, rolls or muffins are served each morning, the jams and marmalade are home made.  We try where possible to provide home grown fruit for breakfast and this could be rhubarb, raspberries, spiced apple puree or plums.  All the eggs are sourced locally, from free range hens.

We know too how breakfast can be a particularly personal choice and so along with a traditional full English breakfast we offer vegetarian options with mushrooms, tomatoes, vegetarian sausages and eggs cooked to your choice or vegetarian eggs benedict – with field mushrooms replacing the ham.

Breakfast is usually served between 7.30 and 9.00 am on week days and between 8.00 and 9.30 am at weekends.  If you think you’ll need a longer time in bed it is possible for us to provide ‘breakfast in a bag’ – cereal bars, Danish pastries, fruit and fruit juice.

The Breakfast Menu

Cereals, fruit juice, fruit, yoghurt, freshly baked bread, home made preserves,

and a choice of:

     Full Engish Breakfast – bacon, sausages, tomatoes or mushrooms, eggs.     This is also available as a vegetarian option with vegetarian sausages, tomatoes, mushrooms eggs

Continental Breakfast, Croissants and Danish pastries, boiled eggs with a selection of cold meats and cheese

Please ask if you would like anything else, mushrooms on toast with poached eggs, boiled eggs, plain scrambled eggs for instance.
