Because Castleton House is at the heart of a small town, well the largest village in Wiltshire, there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance of our front door. There are also a couple of takeaways – fish and chips just around the corner and from the Indian restaurant. The local Co-op sells a selection of sandwiches, pies, fruit and drinks.
The George Inn is the closest, open from 6.00 pm. This cosy pub has a bar and separate restaurant and a family room for children.
The Walnut Tree Inn is about a 15 minute walk, or a very short drive, away. A newly built bright and airy pub with a small play park for children.
The list for different places to eat slightly further afield could go on for ever, the list below is just a few of the places that we particularly like.
The Bell and Crown, Zeals – 2 miles away
The White Lion, Bourton – 2 1/2 miles away
The Fox and Hounds, East Knoyle,
The Roth Bar and Grill, Bruton
We have menu’s from a number of local pubs and restaurants in a folder in the bedrooms. If you would like us to book a table for you before your stay then just ask.
If you want to buy a take-away then I can lay spaces in the dining room for you, please let me know.
